Xilinx forms global R&D hub in India

Xilinx center in Hyderbad will serve as the company's global R&D hub.
Until now, the Indian center focused on developing IP cores. It has developed about 60 cores, many based on 65-nm process technology but from now on the center will serve as a global hub for Xilinx R&D operations as well.

Mallik Moturi has been named the new managing director of the Indian unit.

"Xilinx India is one of our largest development facilities outside of the United States," Wim Roelandts, Xilinx chairman and CEO, said in a statement.
