Gartner strong Q1 growth for EMS firms

Gartner has listed sales revenues for nine key EMS providers and has noted Q1 revenue growth of 16 % compared with Q1 2006. EMS companies like Flextronics, Jabil, Solectron and Benchmark Electronics had notable first-quarter year-over-year growth. Flextronics was driven by its consumer and mobile business growth. Flextronics customers are like Sony-Ericsson, Hewlett Packard and Nortel. Solectron is producing a lot for Cisco, HP and Nortel. Jabil benefited from growth in telecommunications and improved in instrumentation and medical. Slow growth and revenue shrinkage was for companies like Celestica, Elcoteq and Sanmina-SCI.
