Universal Instruments to reduce workforce
Universal Instruments has reduced its workforce by ten full-time positions.
Right after Universal Instruments' sale to a California investment firm was completed the company laid off ten employees at its facilities in Binghamton, US.
A spokesperson said that the lay-offs had nothing to do with the sale, stressing that it was the weaker order in-flow that resulted in needed reductions in workforce for the company.
Major parts of Universal Instruments manufacturing has moved to China.
