Mid-sized EMS companies to<br>face hard RoHS compliance issues
RoHS compliance is a major challenge for all companies in the electronics industry. But midmarket players are perhaps the hardest hit because they have less resources and less buying power to work with suppliers on getting compliant (or noncompliant) parts as needed.
These are the issues that haunt Sandra Johnson-Quinlan, purchasing manager at midmarket contract manufacturer Liberty Engineering. Not all of Liberty's customers send product outside of the U.S., but the ones that do require Liberty to do some tricky navigating all the way through the supply chain.
