RoHS exemption for medical devices under review
The existing RoHS exemption for medical devices, Category 8, is currently under review by the European Commission, and is expected to be included in the scope of RoHS.
Many medical OEMs have started the transition to RoHS-compliant parts due to growing obsolescence and rising prices of leaded devices. Others are worried about reliability.
