Big Ass Fans adds third Hentec/RPS machine

Complementing the purchase of two Hentec Industries/RPS Automation Vector 300 selective soldering machines in 2018, Big Ass Fans (BAF), a high-volume, low- speed (HVLS) airflow manufacturer, has just added a third machine to its factory in Newman Lake, Washington.

BAF Director of Manufacturing Engineering Frank Grimard said, “We realized that starting up a PCB assembly operation had to be carefully planned; after all, we couldn’t chance to tarnish our brand by missing deliveries or compromising our product quality. It was understood early in the planning process that we needed three main ingredients to make this work: experienced talent, world-class manufacturing processes, and quality equipment.” BAF’s PCB complex designs feature both surface mount and through-hole technology, requiring a selective soldering system to minimize labor and provide the highest quality process for soldering. The Hentec/RPS Vector 300 brings a wide range of process capabilities, a durable design, and the high precision and accuracy needed for complex assembly requirements.
