Samsung Display to spend billions to upgrade LCD plant?
Samsung Display is reportedly planning to invest a massive KRW 13 trillion (about USD 11 billion) to upgrade its display panel production in South Korea.
The company is expected to unveil the massive investment plan next month, according to a report for Yonhap news agency citing industry sources. Samsung Display will – according to the sources – upgrade its LCD production lines at its manufacturing facility in Asan, South Korea, to quantum dot display manufacturing facilities. A spokeswoman for Samsung Display told Reuters that “nothing had been decided on its future investment plans.” Updates to this story will be published as new information comes to light.
