BASF: Explosion at Ludwigshafen facility
An explosion occurred at BASF in Ludwigshafen (Landeshafen Nord) at around 11:30 am. The cause of the explosion is currently unknown.
However, the company was conducting routine works on a pipeline. The explosion then triggered secondary fires in the area. Several people have been injured. Several people are still missing, a company announcement states,
Rescue, fire and police forces are on site.
