PKC Group starts expansion in Serbia

The Finnish PKC Group, competitors to German Leoni AG, has laid the foundation for a new production facility in Serbia.
As announced in August, the company plans to consolidate its European production capacities. For that reason, the location in Smederevo (Serbia) is now being expanded. The total investment was estimated to be around EUR 8 million.

Premier Aleksandar Vucic, as representatives of the Serbian government, told local media representatives that the completion of the - approximately 20,000 m2 large - production hall is planned for the end of this year. At that point, the previously announced production transfer from Sosnowiec (Poland) and Haapsalu (Estonia) should also be completed.

The production itself is expected to start with about 500 employees and should increase to around 2'500 by the end of 2016.
