ASE to buy Toshiba chip plant in China
Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) will acquire Toshiba's chip assembly and test plant in Wuxi (China).
ASE is paying Toshiba roughly USD 11.4 million for the plant. No date of closure for the acquisition has been provided, according to a report in Digitimes.
The backend facility of Toshiba – Wuxi Tongzhi Microelectronics – specialises in discrete and logic semiconductors for consumer products, primarily for Toshiba.
