US sales ban on Samsung tablet lifted

A US court has lifted a temporary sales ban of Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy 10.1 tablet.
The ban, put in place on 26 June, was the result of a patent dispute with Apple. Samsung was charged with copying designs for the iPhone and iPad by a jury, resulting in a sales ban for multiple Samsung products. Apple was also awarded over 1 billion USD in the dispute.

Samsung has now successfully argued that the jury did not find the company guilty of violating the patent upon which the Galaxy ban was based. District Judge Lucy Koh therefore recinded the ban.
