Workers threaten mass suicide

Workers at a Foxconn factory threatened mass suicide over workplace adjustments.

Some 200 workers at Foxconn’s plant in Wuhan, China, threatened to jump of the roof according to a report by Reuters. A spokesman for Hon Hai Precision, a unit of the Foxconn group, said the protest involved mostly new workers at the plant. The plant produces parts of the Xbox 360. Activist group, the Information Centre for Human Rights, said one complaint was that workers earned less than they had in previous jobs. According to the group, the workers returned to work following police intervention. Workers at the plant had also threatened suicide in January over work transfers and failed compensation.
