Flextronics sold French unit in St.Etienne

Update (13-August-2010 / 07:01): Reports suggest that EMS-provider Flextronics has sold its manufacturing unit in St. Etienne (France).

Flextronics St. Etienne s.a.s. - and the manufacturing facility in St. Etienne - has been bought by Italian group Pufin S.p.A., local media reports. The acquisition will affect around 150 staff. Although the company plans to continue the EMS-business, new activities for the production of photovoltaic modules are apparently planned to start by the end of the year. The name of the company was also changed to Elifrance, the reports continue in saying. Update: Flextronics has confirmed the sale, but has provided no further details to date.
