Infineon invests in Malaysia
German chip manufacturer Infineon plans to invest in its manufacturing facility in Melaka, Malaysia this year.
Infineon will apparently invest RM 180 million - mainly in developing new back-end technologies and to upgrade its manufacturing capabilities at this facility, according to Bernama.
As such, the investment will result in a 16% increase in manufacturing capacity for power semiconductors at the Melaka unit. Additional to that Infineon also plans to add and invest into engineering competencies for packaging technologies.
