New microelectronic facility for EMS company Axis

UK based EMS provider Axis Electronics has opened a new microelectronic facility.

From March 2010 the company will be offering microelectronic assembly services including manual/automatic die bonding and manual/automatic wire/tape bonding, both as part of multichip module (MCM) and chip on board (COB) style assemblies. The facility will be located in the Bedford plant and will consist a 10,000 cleanroom with temperature and humidity controls. The cleanroom will be headed up by Engineering Manager, Matt Turner who held a similar position with Texas Instruments before joining Axis Electronics. The company has also appointed Paul Chaplin as Material Director. He has held senior management positions with Arrow Electronics for more than 10 years. Axis has also appointed Sarah Clough as Human Resource manager. Sarah graduated from London University with an honours degree in Geography and Economics and has more than 10 years in senior Human Resource management positions including Mothercare and KFC.
