Hapro lays off 53

Norway-based EMS-provider Hapro will lay off 53 employees in Jaren, Norway.

After considering the situation and concluded discussions with the unions over the last week, the company has decided to lay off 53 employees. The layoffs will start immediately. The company's CEO, Erik Lundbekk, states that the layoffs come as a direct result of the impacts of the economic crisis - felt by most of Hapro's customers. "Most of our customers deliver to the international market and are affected by the financial crisis. They have therefore stepped down or postponed the orders", Mr Lundbekk says.
