Five Osram jobs shift to Mexico

The remaining five jobs in Osram Sylvania's manual mount lighting production line will shift to Juarez, Mexico.
An Osram Sylvania spokesman said the employees will be offered positions either in plants in Manchester, Exeter or Hillsborough, Unionleader reports. "That transfer is just putting all the work on those under one roof, as opposed to half in Manchester and half in Juarez," the spokesperson said.

However, Osram Sylvania's has invested $40 to $50 million in the Manchester plant to install a new ceramic metal halide lamp production line, to counteract the job losses. About 100 new jobs are expected within the next two years.
