Foxconn buys land in Russia
Taiwan based EMS provider Foxconn has yesterday purchased 12 hectares in Kolpino near St. Petersburg for a new Russian plant.
Total investment in the purchase and construction of the plant will be approximately $ 50 million, another $ 15-20 million will be spent on equipment and start up of the production. Production is expected to start in 2009. Major client for this plant will be Hewlett-Packard. The plant will mainly work on desktops and laptops.
