Efficient thermal management for electronic components
Heat does not only impact the lifetime of the components, but also the reliability of the entire system which is why efficient heat dissipation is essential. Würth Elektronik offers thermal interface materials that can be sorted into two categories: gap fillers and heat spreaders. The gap fillers, called WE-TGF, are thermally conductive filler cushions which fill microscopically small rifts and irregularities between the surfaces. Through that they enable efficient heat dissipation between electronic components and cooling elements, offering a thermal conductivity of up to 6 W/mK. The WE-TGS series are graphite plates which are adaptable in size and shape to spread heat along a horizontal axis. Thanks to an acrylic layer WE-TGS are electrically insulated and offer a thermal conductivity of 1800 W/mK. They are suitable for heat regulation in compact electronic devices. Moreover, hybrid solutions are possible such as graphite-coated foam profiles.
