Nordes – complex EMS supplier – The Scandinavian expansion

Nordes - a polish company that started as a family business and is now expanding on Scandinavian markets – choosing Denmark and Sweden as the first expansion points – is a leading producer in contract electronics manufacturing. Nordes’s headquarters and its machinery park is located in Wroclaw in south-western Poland. Additionally, in March 2023 the company opened a new office in Copenhagen, following its expansion plan. The new office will simplify communication between the central office and partners from Denmark and Sweden.

At the beginning of 2023 Nordes was joined by an expert in electromechanics and electronics – Kim Engmark, who also is a great manager with plenty of expertise in personnel and production management. Kim is responsible for Nordes’s expansion and providing customer service in Denmark. Kim gained his experience working previously for: Berendsen, Eltech, Finder or Alpha Elektronik, among others.

  • I am happy and proud to become a part of Nordes’s team as development of new projects, focus on a client and openness in cooperation have always been and will be forever of high importance to me. In my job my main interests are medicine and industry related projects. High quality of work, technical support on every stage of production, frequent investments in new machines prove that Nordes is a trustworthy partner for Danish customers in EMS sector – says Kim Engmark: Denmark Country Manager.

In Nordes’s machinery park found in Wroclaw, Poland an installation and implementation of new machine for selective soldering has just ended. Selective soldering is based on dosing the solder only on specifically marked assembly fields. Such coating increases precision and the process becomes repetitive. The heat that occurs during soldering is channeled only to designed solder points which enables creation of reliable connections while keeping safety and quality of the connections. In that, during assembly, the PCB boards are exposed to less heat load which affects their durability in a positive way. The selective soldering machine is distinguished by absolute precision and efficiency, temperature choice, automatic soldering process and innovative computer controlling and compatibility to operate with a variety of PCB boards including one-sided boards, double-sided boards, and multi-sided boards.

Current-day production of electronics requires implementing a variety of diverse processes and technologies and adjusting to the individual needs of every client. In EMS production it is important to offer a complexity of services meaning a wide specter of services and working with simple and complex projects. Nordes, as a contract electronics manufacturer, offers end-to-end services: starting with production of PCB boards, SMT and THT assembly, coating, testing and final assembly including box-building and logistics. Nordes is dynamically developing and offers a variety of complex services:

  • Increasing added value for the client – complex solutions which go beyond simple production include whole creation of the product starting with technical and business advice, designing, prototyping, programing and finishing with serial production and testing;
  • Flexibility – listening and adjusting to the customer’s needs and current market’s demands. By staying up-to-date Nordes can offer complex and modern solutions;
  • Better quality control – complex EMS services enable implementation of better-quality control during whole production process. At Nordes, every step of production is controlled which enables avoidance of some quality problems.

In that the customers gain increased added value, save time and money because all the services are provided by one supplier. Complexity offered by Nordes also enables more effective and faster execution of projects. Nordes values high standards of services, safety, and quality of work.

  • Such methods of working implemented at Nordes is very precise and specific. We are not afraid to take the responsibility of our clients’ shoulders by constantly supporting them and doing a big part of the work for them. We place importance on partner relations and on building common trust. We want to show our partners that with goods ordered at Nordes they also receive full support on every step of production – says Kim Engmark: Denmark Country Manager.

Based on the dynamic changes in the EMS market Nordes focuses on complex approach to services which include among others:

  • Designing and engineering – adjusting the device to customer’s needs, designing PCB boards, choosing proper components
  • Purchasing and stocking – choice and buying of components, delivering materials needed for production;
  • Production – production of PCB boards, assembly and soldering components, testing and quality control;
  • Logistics – delivery of goods to the client
  • Small (prototype) and full-size batches – from niche orders to full serial batches
  • Support during designing and production;
  • Adjusting to the trends on the market – following IPC-A-610, ISO 9001 or ISO 13485

In order to meet the expectations of our customers Nordes has its own Research and Development Department which enables designing of any product or dedicated programs. We create solutions upon receiving an idea from a client. The R&D team handles conducting tests and developing conceptions of new products or services, as well as, establishing technical and business requirements, designing prototypes, and testing them in laboratory conditions.

This year Nordes is taking part in few international shows, the following shows are:

  • EoT – Electronics of Tomorrow which take place 9-11 May 2023 in MCH Messecenter Herning, stand number M9834.
  • Then Evertiq Expo Malmo 16.05.2023, Evertiq Expo Goteborg 20.09.23 and Elmia Subcontractor 14.11.23-16.11.23 in Jönköping.
  • Danish and Swedish market are of high importance to us. Danish or Swedish EMS sector ar very well developed: high innovativeness and developed technological infrastructure create big opportunities for contract electronics manufacturers like Nordes. Poland supports good trade relations with Nordic market and is valued for its production skills, flexibility and quality. Poland is considered one of the most important suppliers in EMS sector in European Union. Nordes is a safe and trustworthy partner – says Michal Luckiewicz, CEO

Soon Nordes will be taking part in Evertiq Expo Malmo conference which takes place 16th May. During Evertiq Expo Malmo Kim Engmark will present a speech about prototyping in electronics manufacturing using DFM method.
