Infineon wants to divest Qimonda

Infineon established Qimonda to separate its memory business from its other businesses but the company is now ready to decrease its ownership in the memory business. The company has announced that at latest by the annual shareholder meeting in 2009 Infineon's ownership in Qimonda would be decreased to below 50 %. The sell out of the remaining shares will then go on and any revenues from sold shares will be used to strengthen Infineon's business and the company could consider acquisitions of companies to strengthen its non-memory businesses further.
