PicoChip in agreement with MIMO

Fabless semiconductor firm PicoChip Ltd. (Bath, England) has teamed up with near neighbor, Systems4Silicon Ltd. (Bristol, England), for PHY chip support. Systems4Silicon, founded in 2005, provides consultancy and design services relevant to PHY, MIMO (multiple input, multiple output antenna systems) power amplifier linearization and RF design and PicoChip delivers reference designs for HSDPA, upgradeable to HSUPA and WiMAX/WiBro (both 802.16d and 802.16e, with support for MIMO). "Their understanding of these standards, together with comprehensive knowledge of our architecture enables Systems4Silicon to offer clear time-to-market advantages to our customers," said Guillaume d'Eyssautier, CEO and president at picoChip, in a statement.
