e2v lands contract worth £10.4m

e2v technologies, a UK based developer and manufacturer of components and sub-systems announces two key contract wins worth a total of £10.4m.

e2v has announced that they have renewed a contract with TomoTherapy Inc, Wisconsin, US, worth US$12m (£6.3m). e2v will supply magnetrons and compact modulators from its electronic tube division for incorporation into the TomoTherapy Hi-Art(R) radiation therapy system, used in radiotherapy cancer treatment. e2v's products form a key enabling technology within the Hi-Art(R) system, generating and delivering the microwave power required to produce the X-rays used both in the imaging and radiation treatment of tumours. In addition, e2v has won a follow on contract to supply vital defence electronic subsystems, which utilise e2v's electronic tube technology, to the UK Ministry of Defence. The order, worth £4.1m, will be delivered within the next four months.
