Jabil to to close its Vancouver site – 120 jobs lost

EMS giant Jabil is planning to close its Vancouver, Washington operation – resulting in the permanent layoff of 120 employees.

The US company issued a WARN notice earlier this month, stating that the layoffs would start in May.

As previously reported by Evertiq divested its Mobility business to BYD Electronic in a cash transaction valued at USD 2.2 billion. As pointed out by The Origonian, Jabil anticipated costs of USD 300 million relating to the restructuring of the business, including an unspecified number of “headcount reductions.”

The Vancouver site has already disappeared from Jabil's website.
