Tesla appoints CFO, CAO in official transaction

Following a January announcement that long-time CFO Deepak Ahuja would be leaving, Tesla has filed U.S. Government form SEC 8-K, which officially appoints Zachary Kirkhorn to the position.

Kirkhorn has held several critical positions in the Tesla finance team during the past nine years. The company also announced the appointment of Vaibhav Taneja as CAO, after a tumultuous year of executive departures from the finance team. As reported by Elektrek, Kirkhorn will receive “a stock option grant of $12 million and a restricted stock unit grant of $4 million, which will be granted and will vest over four years in accordance with Tesla’s standard equity policies.” Taneja’s stock option grant looks half as good, but still not bad: “$6 million and a restricted stock unit grant of $2 million, which will be granted and will vest over four years in accordance with Tesla’s standard equity policies.”
