Jenoptik breaks ground on new production facility
Construction has officially started on the company’s new development and production unit, located in the ‘Salzgrube’ industrial estate (in Villingen-Schwenningen; Germany), scheduled for completion in the spring of 2020.
Once complete, 220 Jenoptik employees in Villingen-Schwenningen will move in to the new facility. With its new facility the company is aiming at customers in the automotive industry but also at other industrial customers.
“For the Automotive division, investments in modern development and production facilities as well as customer centers ensure sustainable growth”, said CFO and Head of Division Hans-Dieter Schumacher, back in June of 2018 when this project was first announced.
The new building will provide Jenoptik with 3’300 square metres of production area and around 3’600 square metres of new office space.
For the new building with development, production and office space Jenoptik invested around 11 million euros.
