Fabrinet names Dr. Hong Hou as CTO

Dr. Hou brings to Fabrinet extensive technical and executive-level experience in the semiconductor and fiber-optic communication industries. In 1998 he co-founded EMCORE Corporation’s photovoltaic division and led the commercialization of high-efficiency multi-junction solar cell technology for space power applications. From March 2008 to January 2015, he served as EMCORE’s president, CEO and a director. From January 2015 to June 2015 he served as a venture partner at ARCH Venture partners, and from June 2015 to January 2016 he served as Chief Operating Officer of AXT, Inc. Tom Mitchell, CEO of Fabrinet, noted that “Hong brings vast technical and executive level experience to Fabrinet at a time when the fiber optics industry is poised for growth greater than ever in its history.
