Asteelflash invests in UK facility

Asteelflash have invested over GBP 500'000 on new inspection and traceability equipment for their Bedford facility in the UK.

“This investment marks a significant step on our road map to support our customers with state of the art manufacturing facilities. It also demonstrates our ambition to drive forward continuous improvement with respect to quality, operational efficiency and faster speed to market for new product introductions,” said UK Business Development Director Jamie Smith. The GBP 500'000 investment includes the following equipment and features:
  • TR7500 SIII 3D AOI solution with 5-camera coverage and accurate 3D height inspection
  • TR7007 SII DL 3D SPI solution with new generation User Interface and intuitive programming
  • Nikon XTV160 X-Ray with high resolution microfocus open X-ray tube
  • Cogiscan MES track and trace system offering complete route control and board level traceability
  • Nutek LMC-S5 laser marker to accurately mark PCB's
Neil Mincher – UK General Manager commented “This new equipment is the first phase of our spending plan for the Bedford site in 2015. Later in the year we are planning complementary investments to upgrade our ERP system, Agile software system and a roll out a comprehensive staff training programme. In total our investment in 2015 will be close to GBP 1m into the UK facility.”
