New SMT line for Softcom Poland

Softcom, based in Gdansk, Poland, has staged one of the larger recent investment projects amongst Polish EMS companies. With the help of EU funds, the company has purchased a full SMT line.

The new line is a Samsung brand. The most interesting part of the line however is the furnace for soldering Galden fumes with the vacuum chamber. It is already known on the Polish market, but the chamber used in Softcom - VP6000 Vacuum by Asscon - has an additional module that generates a vacuum. The project was co-financed with EU. The total project value was 3.8 million PLN (877 000 euro). The final elements of the SMT line are AOI/AOM Vi5K Performfirmy ViTechnology and x-ray equipment XD7500VR JADE from DAGE, which allow complete control of assembled modules.

The line was launched in February 2012 and has completed its first assignment. “Softcom is known on the market as a supplier of high quality printed circuit boards. Starting a new assembly line using a vacuum allows us to answer the needs of high-quality assembly for difficult and complex projects,” explained CEO, Jaroslaw Raszewski.
