Flextronics Medical to open Malaysia facility

Flextronics Medical's new clean room manufacturing, ISO13485 compliant facility in Senai will provide a range of medical manufacturing services, including PCBA, plastic injection molding, and disposable device sub-assembly for medical devices and life sciences equipment. Flextronics Medical selected this location in Senai for its expansion based on the facility's low cost solution for medical customers and its proximity to skilled resources with competitive medical expertise in Singapore. This market development follows Flextronics Medical's expansion in 2009, where the company added 600'000 square feet of capacity in Shenzhen (China). Flextronics Medical expects the Senai site to be fully operational by April 2011. "This expansion in Senai reflects growing demand for our innovative, world-class medical services to support the world's most recognized medical OEM brands. We currently have a dedicated medical manufacturing facility in Singapore, and this new facility in Malaysia will allow us to leverage our infrastructure in the region while expanding our low-cost footprint to better serve our medical OEM customers," said Dan Croteau, Presidents Flextronics Medical.
