AMTC lays off in Dresden
The Germany-based Advanced Mask Technology Center (AMTC) is laying off 50 of its 130 employees.
Management and owners of AMTC have already informed staff about this measure, reports the local newspaper DNN. Most of the affected employees will have to go by the end of September. The insolvency of the German chip-manufacturer Qimonda was cited as reason for the step.
Qimonda's shares in AMTC were bought by the other two owners - AMD and Toppan (both now hold 50% each at AMTC).
