ABB Transformers close down plant on Ireland

ABB Transformers has decided to close down its plant in Waterford, Ireland.
178 employees will be affected by this decision. The plant is expected to close down in March next year. Reason for the closure is due to lower orders and lack of potential business in the markets that ABB Transformers is in, said RTE. A consultation process with the unions and employees has started.

On Ireland ABB has another manufacturing facility in Dundalk and also offices in Dublin, Cork and Lisburn.
