Job losses at ST-Ericsson?
STMicroelectronics is rumoured to take back ST-Ericsson operations. 1'700 layoffs worldwide to follow this decision.
Diedier Lamouche, CEO of the joint venture between STMicroelectronics and Ericsson, is said to present a restructuring plan that would see 1'700 layoffs worldwide, reports French Les Echo.
Five sites will be closed at a global level:
- Bristol (UK)
- Tampere (Finland)
- Zaventem (Belgium)
- Zurich (Switzerland)
- Shanghai (China)
France will not see any layoffs, but rather a restructuring of sites. Affected here are:
- Sofia-Antipolis
- Paris
- Grenoble
- Le Mans
- Rennes
