New tin whisker testing and reporting standard

iNEMI Tin Whisker Group has released JESD201, a new testing and reporting standard for tin whiskers.
The iNEMI Tin Whisker User Group, which is a group of electronics manufacturers that produce high-reliability products, is focused on concerns related to the growth of tin whiskers in high-reliability, long-life products. They developed recommendations for acceptance testing criteria and also for mitigation practices, and have worked closely with JEDEC and IPC to get these recommendations integrated into industry standards.

JEDEC has now released JESD201, which provides a uniform environmental acceptance testing and reporting methodology, and IPC and JEDEC have published a joint publication, JP002, which provides
information about tin whisker theory and outlines effective mitigation practices.
