Flextronics aims to cut electronics waste

EMS heavy weight Flextronics and Zala-Depo Kft have partnered in Hungary to to promote awareness among youth regarding electronics waste. The goal of the initiative - Zúzz velünk! - is to prevent electronics waste entering landfills. Rita Kercsmár, corporate branding director of Flextronics, told regional media that students from eight primary and eight secondary schools will take part in a competition to promote awareness. Last year - the first year that the initiative was run - 6'000kg of electronic waste was collected.
