Pragmatus files suit against several electronics companies

Patent licensing company Pragmatus has filed charges with the US International Trade Commission against a number of electronics companies alleging infringement of its patents.

The complaint alleges that Asustek, Asus, HTC, LG, Pantech, RIM and Samsung import and sell smartphones and tablets that infringe Pragmatus' patents related to video conferencing technology. "Respondents have violated and continue to violate Section 337 through the importation, sale for importation, and/or the sale within the Untied States after the importation of certain consumer electronics, including mobile phones and tablets, that infringe on Pragmatus' United States Patent No. 5'854'893, United States Patent No. 6'237'025, United States Patent No. 7'054'904, United States Patent No. 7'185'054, and/or United States Patent No. 7'206'809", the filing states.
