ARM acquired Swedish Logipad

As the new ARM Sweden, the Logipard team will employ additional hardware and software engineers, and the Swedish headquarters in Lund will become a center of excellence for silicon implementation of video encode and decode technologies. Video acceleration and processing technologies are critical for the development of consumer electronics products including mobile phones, portable entertainment devices and camcorders, as well as digital televisions and Blu-ray players as device functionalities converge. ----- ARM develops microprocessors for mobile devices and ARM technology lies at the heart of the majority of the world's mobile phones. The Logipard video technology has shipped in more than 30 million mobile phone units to date.
