Gou: Apple to share improvement costs with Foxconn

Apple will share the costs of improving factories that produce iPhones and iPads, Terry Gou said on Thursday, after the ground-breaking ceremony for a new China headquarters in Shanghai. "We've discovered that this (improving factory conditions) is not a cost. It is a competitive strength," Gou said . "I believe Apple sees this as a competitive strength along with us, and so we will split the initial costs." Gou did not reveal the what the total of initial costs would be, nor an exact figure on how these costs would be split between Apple and Foxconn. ----- Source: Reuters
