Celestica wants flexibility in Spain

Celestica says Spain needs more flexibility in its legislation.

January 23 2012, 2:59 PM
Canada based EMS provider Celestica is hoping for more employment flexibility for its facility in Spain. Representatives of two unions, CCOO and UGT, as well as representatives of major companies located in the Valencia Region, including Celestica, based in Pobla De Vallbona, have met to discuss the application of a new Royal Decree passed last year regarding employment regulations.

Discussion focused on the usefulness and scope of internal and external relocation. Wendy Boscá, Celestica's director of human resources for Spain, Austria and Switzerland, said that the EMS provider had always offered relocation programs.

Boscá told local media outlet RHmedia that Spain has gained a reputation for inflexible legislation and that other European countries offer the flexibility mechanisms needed in Spain.
