Hitachi to outsource TV assembly

Hitachiplans to outsource all television assembly as early as this year.
Hitachi is said to keep its Gifu plant, where the company manufacturers core TV components. Outsourcing assembly aims at cutting costs of its Wooo and Ultravision TVs. Manufacturing facilities outside Japan were already closed down.

Analysts state that Taiwan manufacturers benefit - or are most likely to benefit - from the outsourcing plans.
