The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) forecasts the semiconductor market to grow by 4.5 percent to $313.8 billion in 2011, following an estimated 32.7 percent increase to $300.4 billion in 2010. In contrast to 2009, the industry is recovering with revived enterprise and consumer spending. The global economic crisis in 2009 resulted in contracting results at an -9.0 percent growth, totalling $226.3 billion.
