German electronics export to<br>Russia exceeds €5 billion
Whilst the consumer products experience a levelling within the German export, export of investment goods increases significantly.
The exports of the German electronics industry into Russia have reached – with €5.1 billion – a new high in 2007. Best sellers are, despite recessionary tendencies, the communication and information technology segments with €957 million and €763 million respectively. This is followed by electronic household appliances (€498 million), medical electronics (€389 million), switchgears, control gears and industrial controls (€366 million) as well as measurement technology and process automation (€289 million).
The growth dynamics lead to a 50% (+49.6%) sales increase in the big market segments, such as switchgears, control gears, industrial controls, medical electronics (+26,8%) and measurement technology and process automation (+19,2%). Given the stagnating and partly declining development of consumer goods, we can suggest a long overdue revival of the industrial base in Russia.
