Ericsson plans to cut 5000
Ericsson is planning to lay off 5000 employees according Swedish news agency "Direkt".
The Kumla and Gävle facilities in Sweden are expected to take the hardest hit. This information has not yet been confirmed by Ericsson. More details are expected during Ericsson's annual report presentation on February 1, 2008. In recent years Ericsson has been exposed by fierce competition from Chinese rival Huawei, leading to many lost orders globally.
