Renesas to sell Aomori plant to Fuji Electric?

Renesas Electronics is rumoured to plan to sell its Aomori Prefecture plant making microcontrollers for automobiles to Fuji Electric Co.
The Aomori manufacturing facility is owned by Renesas Northern Japan Semiconductor Inc., a Renesas subsidiary. It is said to change ownership in summer for several billion Yen.

Furthermore, Renesas is also rumoured to consider selling its Tsuruoka plant in Yamagata Prefecture held by another unit, Renesas Yamagata Semiconductor Co., regional media reports. Here semiconductor foundry Global Foundries Inc. is named as a potential buyer.

In response, Renesas issued the following statement: The reports were not based on Renesas' announcement and they cannot be confirmed or regarded as fact at this time.
