Scanfil shed 40 workers in Finland

Finland based EMS-provider Scanfil plc starts statutory negotiations at company's Oulu plant for productional and economic reasons.
Intense price competition and market's focusing more and more to developing countries requires that contract manufactures can constantly improve their cost efficiency. For this reason maintaining the competitiveness of the company requires, that in the future a part of the products made in the Oulu plant, is produced in lower cost locations of Scanfil Group. The negotiation proposal has been given to personnel today 9 May 2005. Negotiations are estimated to have impact to the employment of about 40 employees.
