NAND prices hikes
NAND prices are hiking after shortages.
"The production outage at certain Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. fabs could cause the current shortage of NAND flash parts to linger through the first half of August, potentially boosting prices", according to iSuppli Corp.
The electrical blackout evertiq earlier reported about is likely to result in boosting prices. Samsung's NAND-flash production lines 6, 7, 8, 9, 14 and system LSI lines have been impacted by electrical blackout, which has caused a cessation of production and the affected Samsung fabs account for 35 percent of global NAND wafer output, according to iSuppli.
