Hansa Electronics opens plant in Latvia

Latvian based EMS provider Hansa Electronics is preparing to open its third production plant in Latvia.
Company`s CEO Mr. Osmanis told evertiq that an installation process currently is under way. First pilot production will start during the second half of March. Full opening is scheduled for April.

Initially there will be around 20 to 25 employees at the plant; however Mr. Osmanis is counting on that the number will grow to reach approximately 70 within one year.

For Hansa Electronics the biggest markets in Europe are the Baltic and Nordic countries, however the company is planning to establish in other countries like Germany and the UK.

Mr. Ilmars Osmanis started Hansa Electronics in 2001. The company has grown from seven employees in 2001 to 150 in 2006 with a turnover of 7 million Euros.
