BioDot and JOT installs automated assembly system at CIQ

BioDot and JOT Automation place an automated rapid test strip assembly system at the Chinese Inspection & Quarantine Facility.
BioDot, a company in system tools for diagnostic tests, and JOT Automation, a supplier of test and production solutions, installed an automated cassette assembly system for the volume manufacturing of lateral flow tests to the Chinese Inspection & Quarantine Facility (CIQ).

The modular desktop assembly cell is based on the JOT IDeA (Intelligent Desktop Automation) platform.

"JOT sees micro factory solutions as a growing trend. We are excited about the opportunities to use our know-how, originating from the telecom industry, to offer solutions for the medical diagnostics market," said Jorma Venäläinen, Business Line Director of Life Sciences at JOT Automation. “Life science companies like CIQ are seeing manufacturing as a critical asset to increase capacity and quality cost effectively and to speed up development cycles. The importance of automation technology has never been more relevant.”

“The modular IDeA platform is an ideal solution for manufacturers with more than one product to assemble. Quick product changes, flexibility and efficiency support our philosophy, bringing manufacturing strength to the laboratory, just perfectly,” states Anthony Lemmo, COO of BioDot.
