Kitron Arendal: laying off up to 100

It's Kitron's Norwegian facility in Arendal that is pulling on the break. At a meeting held last week, the company was informed that between 50 – 100 positions could go, according to a report from local Nrk.no. Arendal employs roughly 500 people, out of the 1'200 employee total for the company. At a minimum, 50 jobs will be lost, and in the worst case scenario, as many as 100. The company hopes that a number of layoffs will occur via natural retirement. The company also hired new temporary worker just before Christmas, employees that now might have to leave.
