New Science and Industry Council

The South West Regional Development Agency has appointed Rex Rozario O.B.E. to their Nationally advertised Science and Industry Council.
The twelve member council consists of five Vice Chancellors of Bristol, Exeter, Bath, Plymouth and Bournemouth Universities, and is chaired by Colin Green, President Rolls Royce, Defence and Aerospace.

The South West Science and Industry Council was officially launched at Hewlett Packard Labs on 30th November 2005 in the presence of 200 invited high flyers of Science and Industry.

The council was established to promote a stronger understanding of the contribution Science and Technology can make to the economy of the region and improve the dialogues between key stakeholders, from business and academic communities.

The council's purpose is to help raise the gross value added of Industry and Business in the region through more effective use of Science and Technology, and advise the Regional Development Agency and Government on the future direction of policy in this area.
